Time savers

We all know the complaint “I don’t have enough time”. So let me share with you today a real time saver. No more excuses to not be able to read you favourite blog. The secret is called RSS feed. When you subscribe to the RSS feed of a blog or a website you are notified when the content has changed and the changes are delivered to you. So no more forgetting to check.

By the way RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and is used to describe the technology used in creating feeds.

Enjoy

Drum Roll

We are exited, because we add another product to our product line. So why should you be exited? Because it can make your life easier.
It makes you life easier when you don’t have a webpage and a professional email address.
What do we mean with professional email address?
Well one which is not alfred7613@hotmail.com or fantastichair@yahoo.com or petersmith@telstra.com or whatever provider you use for your internet.
But one which belongs to you. Yes, you have to register a domain, but that domain and therefore the email address is than yours, even if you change your internet provider.
That’s a valid point, isn’t it, because people can’t reach you anymore when you do that. Could you loose business and miss out on opportunities? That’s right.
So we offer not only website hosting where you create your own look by choosing from hundreds of templates and a simple 5 step process. We now offer also the Ultimate Website Toolkit, where you get everything to create a killer web page content explained in our proven “we hold you hand at every step” approach. What was it you wanted to do on your website? Subscription for your newsletter? Selling Products? … Four modules jammpacked with how-to guides and additional webinars. That’s fool-proved. And for the first three months we are selling it of course at a reduced price.
So it’s a double drum roll!

Do you look professional?

Of course you do, when you rock up at your customer site or when they enter through your shop door. Do you have a uniform you and your staff is wearing or is it suit, shirt and tie? Both is great.

But that's not what I mean here.

Would I be allowed to ask you a couple of questions?
  • Does your website have your correct contact details on it, so that they can find you easily if they have to visit you?
  • Does your website have your correct opening hours on it, because otherwise they come to your shop when you are closed.
  • Do you have a professional voice message on your answering machine, or does your phone doesn’t allow leaving a message?
  • Do you have a professional voice message on your mobile or does it sound like “You know the drift, speak now”?
  • What about your email address? Does it read ….@hotmail.com or ….@yahoo.com or …. @bigpond.com? Or worse something like sugar733@hotmail.com or similar?
  • How does your email reply look like?

Serious questions. Do you put your best foot forward when you get in contact with a new custumer? And it wouldn't take long to change the voice message, create a professional looking email footer and to update all your details on your website.

Well done for making a note in your diary.

Is it 3 clicks away?

Welcome back in 2008 - a year with many positive promises! I wish you, your family and your business all the prosperity and health you want.
Beginning of the year it is time to look at some of your business essentials. Why not starting with your web site

Can every important information be found with three clicks?
Three is regarded as the best number for economic click counts a user needs to do to find the information he/she is looking for on your web site.
Don’t get me wrong: one or two clicks are absolutely fine, too.
Let’s have a look what can happen when a visitor on your web site has to click four, five times or more. They can get bored, confused and side tracked. In other words they might not reach the information they looked for on your web site. That means they might not buy, book your seminar, sign up for your newsletter, email you or contact you. They might just go to another web page because it was too hard.

Let’s make a quick count on your web site:
- how many clicks to the buy now/buy button of any product?
- how many clicks to all of your product or service descriptions?
- how many clicks to your contact page?
The three-click rule is important and as well as it is important how easy a link can be found.

Plan for Success

If you like it or not you are today where you saw yourself a year, two or five years ago. And it works every time. It’s not where you wished to be but where you saw yourself. As we know it works, so why not using it?
Think of your business, the one you have or your business start-up plan. Think of the new service or product launch. Where do you want to be in 3 months, in 6 months and at the end of the year? Reach for a piece of paper and a pen, take a couple of minutes and start writing. How much income and revenue do you plan to have? What new products do you want to launch? How many employees or contractors are working for you? What promotions do you run and what Internet Tools and Services are you using? What new tools and strategies are you going to learn and to implement? What business advice and business training do you add to accelerate your business success?
How often are you going to contact your existing customers? What strategies to attract new customers do you implement? How often to update your web site? How many newsletters? How often are you going to Blog? What business questions do you need answered at the end of three, six and twelve months and what resources do you have to find to speed up the process? Create a business plan for 2008.

It doesn’t have to be perfect, but start seeing yourself there. Imagine yourself in three months time reading your bank account figures. Hear yourself talking to a friend in 6 months time about where your business or your planning of your business start-up is at and feel the big smile on your face you can’t wipe away when you look back in a years time at 2008.
What did the Internet do for your business? How did Internet Services and Tools boost your business and how much did it grow? Mhh, that right: heaps. See it.
Select Business Success wishes you a Happy New Year and a fantastic start into 2008 and may the Internet force be with you and your business.
